Christmas 2009

We spent Christmas in Mobile with Micah's Grandparents, Aunt, & Uncle. 95% of the gifts under the tree belonged to Micah.  He ripped the wrapping paper off of a few of the gifts, but didn't show any interest in what was INSIDE of the box. One of his favorite gifts that morning was a little hammer that makes funny noises whenever you bang it on something (see picture below).

Since Micah's Grandparents, Aunt, & Uncle wouldn't be able to attend his birthday party the following week, we had an early birthday party the day after Christmas.  Micah remembered how to unwrap gifts from the day before, but still didn't grasp the concept that there was something within the wrapping! He didn't like his first bite of cake, but asked for more anyway. The icing fascinated him and he smeared it all in his hair and over the tablecloth. The icing also gave him a sugar rush that made him super hyper for about 20 minutes past bedtime. When the sugar began to wear off, his eyes kept closing while he was laughing and playing--he looked delirious, really. Finally, after several minutes of trying to fight the inevitable, he crashed for the night.

Cruisin'

This is Micah's 11th month chair picture. He kept trying to look over the front end of the chair, and, for fear of him toppling over, I could only take a couple of shots.

And, Micah is OFFICIALLY "Cruising"!  The only way I could lure him across the length of the couch was to use my cell phone as bait...whatever works, right?!

This was the last shot before I had to put the camera down and take him off of the chair...that look in his eyes explains it all...

Mmmma-mmmma!

After two weeks of waiting to hear "Mama" again, Micah has begun to say it on a regular basis! Well, it actually sounds more like, "Mmmmmma-mmmmmma".  (He likes to hang on to the "M" for a long time!)  And, no, I don't necessarily believe that he knows who "Da-da" or "Ma-ma" are, but I'll take whatever I can get!
