Miss Me?

It's amazing how much Micah has changed in just a few short months!  Micah is almost 7 months old and weighs 16 pounds! He's rolling over, holding his own bottle, and trying to master the milestone of sitting up unassisted. Micah is starting a new vegetable on a weekly basis now.  This week's menu: PEAS! Yummy!

Micah is a very happy baby---full of smiles and laughter! His favorite thing to do is play in his Exersaucer that Grandpa put together for him.  You should see him whirl around in circles and squeal with excitement.  The Exersaucer occupies him long enough for me to get myself ready for work or get some household chores done.

We're still settling into our new home---I can't find anything! Right now, I'm on the hunt for the USB cord for our camera.  Hopefully, I'll locate my USB cord soon and upload pictures of Micah in a tuxedo at my sister's wedding! ...Meanwhile, please enjoy the latest pictures taken from my cell phone.

We're Moving!

...which is why I haven't posted anything lately. Our house sold before we could close on our new house (which in this economy is a good problem to have!) Thankfully, Dewayne's mom has been so gracious to allow us to stay with her until then. We hope to be in our new home by the end of the month...meanwhile, I know that Micah has enjoyed spending time with Grandma Dellarie!

Micah had his 4 month check up last Thursday. He is following his growth chart perfectly! He now weighs 13 lb 2.5 oz and is 25 inches long! He moved up to size 2 diapers because he kept blowing out the size 1-2. And, now he is wearing 6-9 month clothes because his legs and feet are too long for the 3-6 month clothes!

His new trick is to pull off his socks, so now when I pick him up from daycare he's usually barefoot by the time I get there. In addition, Micah is SO CLOSE to rolling over, but just can't get over that arm! And, I'm thinking that he may be teething because his drool is like a nonstop faucet these days.

Micah has become quite the traveler this past month with airline trips to both Orlando and Houston. When things settle down, I will post pictures of our weekend in Houston where Micah was the ring bearer for my sister's wedding! And, yes, Micah wore his first tuxedo!

"Where'd you go, Mommy?"

Micah started daycare two weeks ago, and this is how he looked upon returning home after his first day. Awww, doesn't it look like he's saying, "Where'd you go, Mommy?" When I picked him up that afternoon, I asked his teacher how his first day was and she said, "He was a little fussy..." (I'm sure there wasn't anything "little" about his fussiness!) Luckily, by the end of the week he was smiling and he has received a "Happy" on his report card everyday. And, concerning Micah taking the bottle at daycare, he is progressively eating more everyday! During the first few days at daycare, he only ate 4 to 5 ounces within the  8 hour period. Thankfully, as of yesterday he is eating 9 to 11 ounces!

Unfortunately, Micah got the "daycare germs". By Day 1, he was sneezing and had a snotty nose...and by Day 5, he was coughing. A friend told me to get used to it and put the pediatrician on speed dial. To make matters worse, Dewayne started coughing on Monday and I starting sneezing due to allergies, so our entire family just sounds pitiful!

One thing that I have been adjusting to is the amount of time (or, lack of time) that I have to play with him now that I have returned to work. The only face time that I get with Micah is while getting him ready for daycare and getting him ready for bed. By the time we get home in the evening, we only have a window of about 2 hours to spend with him until he goes to bed. Because of this, I try not to take my weekends for granted!

Last weekend we visited my parents in Mobile and Micah was a BIG hit at church! Afterwards, we took family pictures and Micah got a picture with a VERY old bunny that has been around since I was a kid!

I have a business meeting this week and Micah is going with me which means...Micah's FIRST trip on an airplane! Now THIS should be interesting...

Also, if you haven't seen Micah's professional pictures for his announcements, be sure to scroll down to the next posting...

Our happy little Micah!
